The Babinda State Hotel is heratige listed because of its splendid, Federation archetectural design.
The hotel was built by the Queenslan State government in 1917.
No expense was spared. The timber used in construction is the most valuable and now almost unavailable.
Mahogany, Silky Oak, Johnston River hardwood and Black Pender have been used extensively throught the hotel.
The land area is two acres right on the main street of Babinda.
The hotel has 10 rooms 5 of which have ensuites.
There is also a 3 bedroom managers house attached and another 3 bedroom house detached from the main hotel building.
There is a 2 bedroom flat at the rear of the hotel.
There is a large, airconditioned Games room with 14 gaming machines.
A fully airconditioned restaurant for 100 people, A very large function room and Pool room with 8 pool tables for competitions.
