A wide deck across the front of the main house lets you enjoy harbour views and the marvellous sunsets. A second deck on the north-east corner provides for shelter and a place for the barbecue. The Guest wing has its' own deck. Floors throughout are covered by cork tiles. All doors are wide enough for a wheel chair.

A Solar system and a wet back on the wood stove minimise the use of electricity for water heating. Under the house there is a large workshop and storage or hobby area.  The house is 3800 sq.ft. in area, including the garage (388 sq.ft.), basement (732 sq.ft.) and decks (743 sq.ft).

The property covers 2 Ha (5 acres) of land which slopes to the waters of the Hokianga Harbour, with direct access onto the sandy beach.  One acre around the house has been developed as gardens, orchard and lawns, with windbreaks of native trees. The balance of the property is grass paddock and contains 2 stock ponds and is being grazed by cattle.

It is 10 minutes drive to the local store for everyday needs, 20 minutes to the hospital, 40 minutes to the nearest major town, one hour to the East coast to places like the Bay of Islands, and 4 and a half hours to Auckland and the International Airport.
