The property. The pousada is a fully functioning, rapidly improving business with 4 individual bungalows and a separate kitchen / utility area. The location. Moreré is a fishing village with 250 inhabitants situated on the Atlantic side of the Island of Boipeba, remarkable for its rare natural beauty and the vast variety of its ecosystems. The island, 100 kilometres south of Salvador, contains surviving areas of the Atlantic Forest, extensive mangroves and scenic beaches. It is part of the Environmental Preservation Area, the pace of life is slow, and everything brings to mind the simple life of a community that was completely isolated a little over 10 years ago. Now 3,000 people live in the island’s four settlements, which still retain many legacies of their historic part. There are no cars on the island, with most goods being transported by mule or boat or by tractor.Moreré has got 3 different beaches, protected from the ocean by a coral reef and is situated close to the Natural Swimming Pools, the principal tourist attraction of the island, and perfect for swimming and diving. The village has a primary school, catholic church, restaurants serving a wide range of local dishes and a couple of beach bars.
The business. The Pousada is a perfect small business, providing a year-round income but small enough to allow time to enjoy life in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. The accommodation is currently managed by the owners and one maid/housekeeper. Moreré is a good place to invest, the properties are still affordable and the village is benefiting from a growing fame. Business has trippled this season as the island, and Morere in particular, become more widely known. The area attracts both Brazilians and travellers from abroad extending the season beyond the peak summer period. Accounts are available for potential buyers and if required a Brazilian company, established to run the pousada can be included within the sale subject to Brazilian company law.
