Taveuni island is known as the Garden Island. It is covered with lush rainforest and water is never a problem. There are numerous beautiful waterfalls including the one used in young Brooke Shields classic movie, Blue Lagoon. There is a natural waterslide which runs about 50 metres long and ends in a natural plunge pool, appoximately 20 minutes drive from the house. The kids, and adults alike, love this still secluded spot.
The island is also known as one of the best scuba diving locations in the world. The White Wall and Rainbow Reef, both of which you can see from your balcony, are rated in the top ten dive spots in the world. There are a number of dive operators who make the trip on a daily basis. Snorkeling right off the beaches is also wonderful with a wide assortment of corals and fish.
Fishing and deep sea fishing are both very popular sports on the island.
There are regular flights from Nadi and Suva daily as well as a number of ferry boats.
