Charming 3 bedroom cabin in Creel, an Alpine village in the heart of the Copper Canyon. All log cabin construction with some laja (rock) floors. 2 floors, fireplace, full recently remodeled kitchen, laundry room, study with wireless internet access included with house swap, living room, dining room. Roof is made of tin so that you can hear the rain when it falls. Central gas heating has recently been added. Gas stove and boiler is used. Electricity is 110. (only 1 bedroom is being used for house swapping purposes right now as the other two are being worked on)
Garden, grass and landscaping. 2 willow trees, 2 peach and 2 apple trees along with a cherry tree and large pine tree fill the yard.
A large wall surrounds the property that sits on a corner near the railroad tracks, inside city limits and 4 blocks from the main plaza. Sits near train tracks and is zoned residential and commercial. This is a cabin and is not for tall people. Anyone over about 5'7'' will not be comfortable in this house as it has beam ceilings that are quite low (see photos).
The Raramuri/Tarahumara Indians live in this region and the town is terribly charming and picturesque. The town of Creel has a population of 10,000 people with grocery stores, gas station and all normal services available. The closest major shopping area is Chihuahua city, 3.5 hours away by car, 5 hours by train or bus where you'll find a Walmart, Home Depot, Office Depot, Sam's Club, etc....An international airport is being constructed just now in Creel as it is a major tourist destination in the Copper Canyon. Batopilas is 5 hours away by car, Divisadero is one hour away by car and Guachochi is only 3 hours by car. The famous Chepe train line runs through Creel and traverses the Copper Canyon.

Our house swap also includes daily maid service, except for Sundays, and a maintenance man is on call for any problems you may have.
House swapping and a vacation home is mainly what we use this property for now as we love to travel. We'd be interested in swapping with anyone really who lives in an interesting place but our main points of interest at this time are Puerto Vallarta (preferably southern PV), Ireland (anywhere), Scotland (anywhere), Spain (Andalucia)and Greece (anywhere). We are very busy as a rule though and need some advance notice time to manage our schedules so please let us know if you are interested way in advance, unless you are in Puerto Vallarta as that is much easier to manage and closer by.
