From the moment that you set foot on this property, you feel like you have stepped back in time! As you walk from the large dock on the ocean over the 200 meter raised wood entrada, you will pass ficus trees measuring up to 15 feet in diameter, caco (cocoa) and coconut trees, and numerous orchids and flora.
This spectacular 27 hectares + 7715 sq meters (approximately 70 acres) is located on Isla San Cristobal, just a 30 minute boat ride from the town of Bocas Del Toro on Isla Bocas or the town of Almirante on the mainland. There is deep water anchorage in a large bay adjacent to the property and the shoreline is protected by a reef that extends along the entire side of the island.
The property is fenced, including interior fences. There is a large shed, caretakers house, freshwater streams and numerous springs. The front half of the property includes the entrada, about 14 acres of pasture land with fruit trees (coconut, lime, orange, mango, grapefruit, etc), and the teak plantation. The plantation consists of 5000 teak trees that are 10 years old and cover about 12 acres of the property. Approximately 10% of the trees are currently being thinned to allow more room for the larger trees to grow. A saw-mill has been installed on a neighboring teak plantation and I'm certain that arrangements could be made to help mill and transport the wood. The initial investment should be realized over the next 10 to 15 years just in the harvesting of the teak!
The back half of the property is approximately 30 acres of pristine jungle. It is absolutely amazing! You can see neighboring islands, the beautiful Caribbean Sea, and the mainland. The jungle abounds with wildlife, (monkeys, sloths, ocelots, etc) and over 150 different species of birds have been spotted in a single day!
The potential for the property is only limited to your imagination. You can escape the rat race of the outside world, enjoy the peace and solitude that this property has to offer, and be in Bocas or Almirante in just 30 minutes.
Sale of the property includes the transfer of an established Panamanian Corporation. More photos can be found at the website link
