Casa Lyon is a two story penthouse condo with two completely separate living units, and ownership of the entire roof top.
The roof solarium has views of Cozumel and in the evening the lights of the cruise ships can be seen streaming across from Playa del Carmen to the popular island getaway. The roof is built out with an extra large jacuzzi hot tub, accessed by stone steps and surrounded by a white stone sunbathing platform. To the left of the jacuzzi are two queen sized floating sun beds with white curtains which can be adjusted to regulate the sun's exposure. On the other side of the jacuzzi is a pergola and w th cushioned seating for 15 guesta. There is a tiled water wall, a shower, and a large storage area for outdoor furniture and equiptment. For dining and relaxing, there is a pergola covered bar as well, which has wooden cabinets, a large grill, and a small fridge for cold drinks. The roof is perfect for sunbathing use during the day, and is equally wonderful at night when the lights of Playa color the sky with the hues of Mexico. Built-in lights and hanging star lanterns make the roof a magical place.
The 2000 square foot penthouse includes two completely separate apartments. One side features a large unit with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a wonderful kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a state of the art gas/electric stove, a 22 cubic foot efrigerator as well as a dishwasher; there are granite countertops as well as a mahogony bar with bar stools. The large dining/living area contains an oversize red velvet couch, as well as a double chaise lounge, and an entertainment center with a large screen T.V. which has satalite feed to the U.S. (dish network based out of New York). High-speed wireless internet access is available. A catalosh dining room table and chairs for eight was made especially for this condo and gives the dining area an Afrucan Colonial feeling.There are two large baths (one completely private off of the master bedroom suite which has its own dressing area and balcony) and a guest bedroom which is fitted out with two queensize beds. All floors throughout the penthouse are tiled and the trim includes specially made doors and window shutters which can be used to completely close off all of the windows including the sliding doors to the balconies.
The studio unit has its own balcony which has a built-in sleeping alcove and overlooks the golfcourse. There is a full kitchen, with state of the art appliances, a full bath, and a seating/dining area with a mock fireplace. The loft bedroom has a queensize bed and is accessed by a mahogony spiral stairway. The units are completely separate but share a hallway with a laundry room fitted out with a washer and drier.
Downstairs at Hoyo Quartro there is a beautiful swimming pool with a child safe area for infant swimming and a stone bar with underwater stools for the grownups, A picnic pavalion for entertaining is also poolside. The property is adjacent to the golfcourse at Hole Four, with a forest buffer of lovely trees filled with the colorful birds of the Myan Riviera.
Visitors have said that it is one of the loveliest places in Playa because of its unique setting, its magically beautiful rooftop, and the views of the ocean from the privacy of the solarium.
