This picturesque cottage is located in the small village of La Laguna, about 15min south of the major port city of Veracruz. La Laguna is famous for its bird watching but mostly for the lake, also called la laguna, which has a delta that feeds directly into the Gulf of Mexico. The lake is where the majority of the locals spend their time fishing and catching oysters, just as they have for generations. Several of the restaurants are known to take your order and then go catch it! The village also boasts of having the freshest and most delicious oysters in the country.  

The landscape is the definition of tropical, which would explain the dozens of flower and fresh fruit stands that span from La Laguna to the city of Veracruz. Veracruz is one of Mexico’s largest international port cities and is famous for its Colonial architecture, Caribbean flavor, Cuban cigars, delicious seafood, and exotic nightlife. Veracruz holds its internationally famous ‘Carnival’ festival once every year.  

The house is a single story 2bed, 1bath, kitchen/bar, dinning area/living-room, and a large front porch with built-in bbq. The yard is fenced in and holds about a dozen palm trees a lemon tree as well as several indigenous tropical trees. The yard and patio are surrounded by an outdoor lighting system that works perfect for late night fiestas! For an afternoon snack you can always count on local fisherman to have the freshest catch of oysters delivered to your door. The lake itself is about 15ft from the front patio. After finishing a good book in the hammock there isn’t anything better than only having to walk 15ft for a swim!
