Truly unbelievable. This has never been logged and as a result the maples are at least 100' tall. Trees like this haven't been seen here for 80 years.
This is a 250 acre parcel. Just north of Sault Ste Marie. By gravel road you are 10 minutes from the highway. From the highway you are 20 minutes to town and the USA border. 16 miles as the crow flies to the international bridge. From there, 5 hours to Flint, Bay City, Saginaw, Ann Arbour, 7 hours 22 minutes to Chicago according to Google Earth. Dash 8 service to Toronto several times every day.
Sault Ste Marie is a city of 75,000. Typical June temperatures range from 12C to 32C. No need for A/C beside the lake. Humidity is relatively low.
The actual lake area is 40 acres, 140' deep, 2200' long, and spring fed. That means very clear water, not muddy like a mountain stream that carries all the silt down with it, or river fed, which carries garbage from your neighbours upstream. Lake State University biologists tested it and it is the best lake they have ever tested.... no motors boats here, only a canoe. You can see the fish jumping when standing on the shore. Only the owner fishes here so the trout are up to 5-7 pounders. This lake was stocked in the 1960s. This is possibly the best private lake you could ever find to buy at any price. It has some lovely rugged geography with it and from the top of the hill behind the house you'd have a clear view of Lake Superior and the whole Goulais Valley.

There is a log cabin on the property. The abundant maple trees on the land are valued at $400,000. A skidder is available with the property to skid any trees you want to fall.
In this area, there are more moose per square mile than people. Imagine coming out of the sauna at night and jumping into your own private lake, then sitting on the dock with a bottle of wine, listening to the loons, looking at the full moon, the northern lights dancing in the sky, and enjoying the serenity of the night. The area abounds in moose, deer, rabbit, bear, lynx, marten, fox, coyote, wolves, cougar, Canada geese, ducks, loons, and herons. If you want to see a moose in your front yard, this is the spot for it.
These properties haven't been available south of the US border for 50 years and you'd be hard pressed to find one north of the border either. Once you travel much farther north than Wawa, the forest changes to more spruce swamp, with less relief, more mosquitoes, and colder winters. This narrow band near Sault Ste Marie gets a moderating affect from Lake Superior which makes summers cooler and winters warmer.
