Boipeba has been an environmentally protected area, APA, for nearly 30 years. There are no roads or cars; transport is by boat, canoe, horse, tractor and donkey. Being an APA, the island is protected from over-development. Moreré is a fishing village with 250 inhabitants. The island is famous for its fish but also lots of seafood is available: octopus, lobsters, shrimps, crabs and clams. Moreré has one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil according to 4-Rodas, the number one Brazilian tourist guide. Moreré has got 3 different beaches, Bainema has got interesting waves for surfers, Moreré village beach is used by fishing boats and Subaio has got natural swimming pools and a coral reef - nice for swimming and diving. The village has a primary school, catholic church, restaurants serving native food, a couple of beach bars and, as of next year, an internet café. The pousada is situated on the central beach, in a 9000 square-meter tropical garden inside the village. The land is 50 meters wide on the front beach side and is 200 meters long. Special care has been taken to respect the local architecture, culture and the APA environmental regulations. Local materials such as piaçaba were used to make the 6 bungalow roofs. Each bungalow is about 40 square meters and is equipped with a private bathroom with solar panel, fridge, roof fan, one double and one single bed and a nice veranda with hammock. The privacy of each bungalow is beautifully respected with generous space, a little river and a bridge, and exuberant vegetation. There is plenty of space to build more bungalows or houses. The property also has two houses at the rear of the land: one for the gardener, and one for the couple who manage the bed and breakfast. The pousada is located in a privileged place; 100 km away from Salvador de Bahia famous for its amazing carnival, and Morro de Sao Paulo, whose beaches have been attracting many tourists for the last 20 years. Moreré is a good place to invest, the properties are still affordable and the village is benefiting from a growing fame. Investment in Brazil is quite easy because of the new immigration laws.
