The single large diesel pump delivers water to a large filling canal that carries water to the ponds. The first kilometer of the canal is constructed on a levee and is lined with brick and concrete. A separate drainage canal enables shrimp harvesting and the movement of water between ponds. Rio Jama provides both fresh and saline water. Levee roads enable movement between the ponds.
